Program Manager (ELD) - Full-time. The Program Manager (Education and Leadership Development) has primary responsibility for youth and adult education and leadership development programming outside of the 4-H summer camp program. This is done predominantly with school groups, corporate groups, and other youth organizations. The Program Manager (ELD) will assist the Program Manger (4-H) with planning and conducting 4-H programs as needed. The Program Manager (ELD) must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively and have excellent customer-service, organizational, and communication skills. Challenge Course Facilitators - Spring season. We are looking for responsible, caring, and committed young adults interested in furthering the 4-H mission through safe and thoughtful challenge course programming. Individuals who are energetic, accountable, enthusiastic, and enjoy working in a collaborative partnership with each other and the challenge course manager are welcome to apply. Time will be spent training, facilitating, general course maintenance, record keeping, and working with youth and adults. Prior challenge course experience and certifications strongly recommended. Applicants must be at least 20 years of age, have excellent customer-service, organizational, and communication skills, have current CPR and First Aid Certification at a minimum, and must be able to work active days outside in the elements. Benefits include a fast paced, stimulating work environment, training and professional development opportunities, on-site lodging (staff house) provided, and a weekly salary of $265.00. Summer Camp Staff - The Northern Virginia 4-H Center is looking for enthusiastic and resilient individuals with a passion for teaching youth and providing them with opportunities to have life changing experiences. Each summer camp program staff member is required to lead three hours of activity instruction in the mornings in areas such as air rifle, archery, photography, high ropes, team building, etc. Training is provided in these areas if you have no previous experience. In the afternoon/evening, applicants are responsible for program operations such as pool and recreation supervision, various evening program activities and leading/participating in campfire. Skills often used by staff are the ability to take initiative, be independently driven and able to think critically to solve problems, as well as strong public speaking. While some tasks are individual, a large majority of the job requires applicants to work as a team thus needing good interpersonal skills and open mindedness. Room and board are provided for the season as well as a weekly salary. Overall we are looking for responsible and caring applicants that will be positive role models for youth ages 9-17.
